Baptist Historical Society of WA Inc invites you to their AGM and Public Meeting with Rick Pekan on work of the Bible Society. All are welcome. This event is to help mark the 500th anniversary of Martin Luther translating and printing the Bible into the “language of the people”. This was a ground-breaking step for a tradition-bound religion, based in Latin and Greek which only priests and the educated could understand. It will bring the point to relevance in WA today. Rick will be sharing what the Bible Society is doing to continue this inspiring work. The Bible Society have been involved for a long time in working with other groups to translate and produce Bibles in many languages , and are focusing on producing texts in various Aboriginal languages and dialects.
