The bed race itself is a fundraiser for the Moora YouthCARE and has been running now for 15 years for this purpose. It is now extended to include a Street Festival with all sorts of entertainment and activities for the kids, including Father Christmas passing through on the Fire Engine. The night consists of the decorated beds (Under the Sea is the theme) parading up and down the section of Dandaragan Street between Roberts Road and Padbury Street, and then there will be heats to find out the two fastest beds, plus the final. This year the Eagles are also coming to town and will race in a celebrity race after doing a free, all ages, coaching clinic. And they have some new smaller, lighter beds which will be used for the inaugural junior races. Entertainment includes Freestyle Bikes, Paw Patrol, Face Painting and Balloons, dinosaur train and food stalls.
